Early Life and Career

Michael Shawn Hickenbottom, known by his ring name Shawn Michaels, was born on July 22, 1965. Michaels began his professional wrestling career in 1984, working in various independent promotions before joining the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1988.

WWE Hall of Famer

Michaels quickly rose through the ranks of the WWF, becoming one of its most popular and successful superstars. He won numerous championships, including the WWF Championship four times and the Intercontinental Championship three times. Michaels was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

Addiction and Comeback

Michaels' career was nearly derailed by drug addiction in the late 1990s. After a near-fatal incident, he entered rehab and successfully overcame his addiction. He returned to the WWF in 2002 and enjoyed a successful second act in his career, winning the World Heavyweight Championship twice before retiring in 2010.
